eCommunity AL Construction has been temporarily Halted.
Hayneville Groundbreaking
Hayneville, AL was the site for the Groundbreaking Ceremony for eCommunity Alabama. This begins Phase I for the project to construct a fiber backbone from Selma to Lowdnes County.
What is eCommunity Alabama?
It is a new Government funded initiative that will bring Broadband services to every household in Tuskegee, AL, as part of an 8 county area of Alabama. There will also be Broadband coming to other households in Macon County according to location. This will allow you to have choices in your internet and cable services. You will not be limited to current company offerings for internet access, cable television and telephone service. A2D develops and operates broadband utility networks within unserved and underserved communities across America. Our goal is to help our nation eradicate the digital divide by replicating our eCommunity-based Platform and Initiative.
SCABC
SCABC or the South Central Alabama Broadband Commission is composed of community and business leaders from South Central Alabama. The purpose of the Commission is to oversee the operation of the Broadband initiative after construction is completed.
Trillion Communications Corporation
Trillion is in charge of the overall construction and networking of the Broadband initiative in South Central Alabama.

SCABC Set-back and New Direction
A new plan announced at the time, according to McCall, was to connect 75,000 homes to the network. He said the first phase would be a wireless phase with the same capacity as the actual fiber with speeds up to one gigabyte, and the second phase would be cable in the ground. Broadband Forum Notes
